Caviar Beads

I had to nip into Poundland the other day to get some cleaning products for our big move out of our house, and got slightly distracted by other things in the shop!
I found this set of Caviar beads for nails, for only ....£1!

They come in cute little glass jars with plastic stoppers, which I plan on saving for crafting once I have used up the beads.

I am yet to use them, but when I do I will post a review and tutorial. I just though they were worth sharing now!

As I said, I am in moving out mode now and have lots of goodbyes to say so won't be blogging much over the next week. I can't believe I only have 4 days left at Uni!

Portugal Buys

I went on a long weekend break to Lisbon last week with my house mates  this is going to be the first post of a few I think!
I am awful when I go on holiday buying tacky souvenirs  so I tried to restrain myself this time around. I collect thimbles so I allowed myself to buy a couple for the collections sake.

When we were wandering the cobbled streets, we came across a shop selling material scraps at a really decent price - €1.95. Scraps is probably the wrong word to use as they are about 150cm x 120cm.

This cat print was the first thing I saw when we went in to the shop. I LOVE cats.

It's chiffony, and I think I am going to chop it in half, hem it and make two scarves out of it.

I saw this cute feather design and instantly thought 't-shirt'. It's a really soft, light material so I am going to make a trip to my neighbour (who is a textiles queen) when I get home to see if she can give me some advice. If there is enough left over, I might attempt a skirt too.

I was a bit naughty when it came to this sweet little bowl. But in my defence, the lady was hand-painting them on the market stall (therefore not tack!!) and it will be really useful for trinkets and the like.

What would you make out of the materials? And do you know any good English material shops?

Results Day!

So today was results day for my final degree classification.
I got a 2:1 but was so close to a first, I don't want to sound ungrateful but I am a little annoyed at myself as I feel I really let go over the last few months.

Oh well, you live and you learn!

Picnic by the a Lake

One of the things on my Graduation Bucket List was to have a picnic by the lake on the campus of my university. It has taken a while to write this post up, but last week my Ukulele group (yes, I play the ukulele) and I went to have our weekly practice by the lake with a picnic. It was glorious sun and there were lots of little ducklings and goslings waddling around.

They were getting rather plucky and were coming right up to us much to the horror of their mother and some members of the band!

I feel so lucky to live on /near such a beautiful place, especially when it is so sunny.

I did have some photos of the actually picnic, but they also include my friends so you will have to imagine!

Pawprint Nails

I have just returned from holiday to Lisbon so posts have been sparse! I had a fantastic time and I will be posting later about my holiday adventures :)

This is a quick post showing some nails I had on last week, I used Rimmell Daisy White - my firm favourite colour at the moment (I hope it doesn't run out any time soon)

I just painted my nails white then used a bobby pin dipped in a black polish to create the main section of the paw print and a cocktail stick to create the little 'fingers'.

Sorry for the shortness, I am very busy this week with a huge to-do list, a formal dinner, my university summer ball and results day on Friday where I will find out my class of degree!
