Portugal Buys

I went on a long weekend break to Lisbon last week with my house mates  this is going to be the first post of a few I think!
I am awful when I go on holiday buying tacky souvenirs  so I tried to restrain myself this time around. I collect thimbles so I allowed myself to buy a couple for the collections sake.

When we were wandering the cobbled streets, we came across a shop selling material scraps at a really decent price - €1.95. Scraps is probably the wrong word to use as they are about 150cm x 120cm.

This cat print was the first thing I saw when we went in to the shop. I LOVE cats.

It's chiffony, and I think I am going to chop it in half, hem it and make two scarves out of it.

I saw this cute feather design and instantly thought 't-shirt'. It's a really soft, light material so I am going to make a trip to my neighbour (who is a textiles queen) when I get home to see if she can give me some advice. If there is enough left over, I might attempt a skirt too.

I was a bit naughty when it came to this sweet little bowl. But in my defence, the lady was hand-painting them on the market stall (therefore not tack!!) and it will be really useful for trinkets and the like.

What would you make out of the materials? And do you know any good English material shops?
